Nestled in the heart of Waverly, NY, Soprano’s Market is a delightful fusion of breakfast restaurant, deli, and casual Italian eatery that charms both locals and visitors alike. This inviting spot serves up a rich variety of Italian-American comfort foods with an unmistakable warmth and authenticity that is reflected not only in their cuisine but also in the welcoming atmosphere.
The real star of Soprano’s is its diverse menu that beautifully balances hearty breakfast options, classic deli offerings, and indulgent baked goods. Imagine waking up to a Bacon Ham Sausage and Egg Breakfast Pizza—a savory, cheesy, and protein-packed dish that hits all the right notes for a fulfilling start to your day. Or savor one of their expertly crafted omelets such as The Italiano, brimming with spicy ham, sausage, provolone, roasted peppers, and mushrooms, each bite bursting with layered flavors that only a kitchen passionate about tradition can deliver.
Lunchtime at Soprano’s Market is equally impressive. Their homemade tuna, egg, chicken, and seafood salads—served as subs or wraps—showcase freshness and care in every ingredient, from crisp celery to perfectly balanced seasonings. For salad lovers, the Antipasto Salad, loaded with cappocola ham, Genoa salami, provolone cheese, black olives, and pepperoncini, offers a vibrant, savory crunch that feels both satisfying and wholesome. The Chef Salad and Caesar options present a deliciously elevated take on familiar classics, making every lunch visit a culinary delight.
Beyond the savory, Soprano’s Market shines with an irresistible selection of baked goods and desserts that have become local legends. From the gooey, caramel apple filled cupcakes to the tantalizing chocolate-dipped cannoli eclairs, every sweet treat feels handcrafted with love. The deep dish pizza slices, especially the garlic pizza varieties, are transcendent – crisp on the edges, bursting with fresh toppings and perfectly melted cheese. Standouts like the Strawberry Cheesecake and Coconut Cream Pie linger on the palate, delivering a nostalgic, comforting finish that keeps guests coming back.
It’s more than just food here — it’s an experience wrapped in old-school Italian charm. The atmosphere channels a warm, inviting vibe that makes you feel as though you’re dining in your favorite Italian nonna’s kitchen. Customers often praise the personable and attentive staff, elevating every visit with genuine hospitality that feels rare these days.
As one delighted patron, Aryn Tew, put it, “Soprano’s Market is a gem in Waverly. The food is excellent, the service is warm and attentive, and the atmosphere has that classic oldschool Italian charm that makes you feel right at home.” This sentiment is echoed by visitors like Madelyn Bailey, who swears by the breakfast pizza, calling it "INCREDIBLE," and Isabella Cervantes, who hails Soprano’s Reuben as “THE best” she’s ever tasted after an extensive search.
Although the vast majority of feedback radiates with praise, there have been a few isolated notes on inconsistency in baked goods and occasional lapses in customer service. Still, the welcoming environment and the incredible flavors these ovens produce keep the faithful coming back again and again.
Whether you’re craving a robust breakfast to kickstart your morning, a satisfying deli lunch, or a sweet, indulgent treat to brighten your day, Soprano’s Market offers a uniquely comforting and authentic taste of Italian-American cuisine with heart. It’s a local treasure where every slice of pizza, every cupcake, and every salad tells a story of tradition, passion, and homegrown excellence.

Soprano’s Market is a gem in Waverly. The food is excellent, the service is warm and attentive, and the atmosphere has that classic old-school Italian charm that makes you feel right at home. I always take some sheet pizzas to go when I’ve been there — it’s so nice to be able to bring that goodness home. A great spot for both quality and comfort.
Every-time I come visit my hometown in NY I always have to visit Soprano's! It is a hidden gem with incredible pizza and baked goods! Have to stock up! I can't recommend this place enough! The breakfast pizza is INCREDIBLE
I don’t usually write reviews but I’ve been searching for the best Rueben and I’ve tried about 200 places at this point, genuinely this was THE best Rueben I’ve ever had in my life! You are not going to regret stopping here! Also the staff was super nice and personable and it was very affordable for what you get!
Review of Soprano’s – Sunday, February 23rd, 2025 I drove to Soprano’s today, hoping to get one of the last remaining Cinnamon Twists that they make on Fridays. Luckily, there were two left, and I bought them. However, the inconsistent quality of their baked goods is particularly disappointing, and the attitude of complete and utter disregard by the male front counter clerks is shocking. When I asked about various baked goods, they had no idea what they were and showed no desire to actually provide customer service by finding out answers to my questions. If the counter clerks are going to dismiss customer inquiries, then why not create signs for the baked goods so customers can identify muffins, pastries, and other items? As a Chef, I find it appalling that the staff aren’t better prepared to serve customers or represent Soprano’s professionally. If this is the level of service they’re trained to provide, then it reflects poorly on the owner’s priorities and standards. I generally enjoy most of their pizzas, but the meatballs are overly salty, tasting as if they’ve been marinating in sea water. Why not use a blend of spices and herbs for flavor instead? Reducing the salt or hiring someone who actually knows how to make meatballs would be a significant improvement. Outside, as I was getting into my vehicle, I spoke with the kitchen manager (who was on a cigarette break) about the meatballs and the coffee machine cartridge being out of coffee (which happens to be Folgers, a poor choice for quality coffee). My feedback seemed to fall on less-than-receptive ears, suggesting that this dismissive attitude might be how the place is managed overall. Attention, Mr. Owner: You have a great market and a business that needs your attention and care. If you’re unable or unwilling to manage it properly, hire someone who truly understands the food industry and knows how to train staff effectively. Your establishment has potential, but it requires dedication to consistent quality, improved service, and attention to detail.
I was in the area( from 2 1/2 hours away) for an event that served their rolls. They were so good I went there after the event was done to get some! I also got pizza and garlic bread that are both delicious! I wish I had more time to spend in there since they have sooo many goodies too! I will definitely find my way back there to get some more good stuff!
